“It’s awesome, after 20 years CEPF is still growing, changing with new players, new programs, new partners and new people to network with”. And Jerilynn should know, she’s been involved with CEPF for close to six years. Currently she participates as a committee member and Founding Partner for On-Line Safety Week, and as a supporter and participant at The ConocoPhillips Links and Legends Golf Tournament.
Jerilynn first came to CEPF as an employee and compares the experience to a trip to Disneyland. The opportunity to see the stars in the eyes of kids meeting their hockey player idols with Reading Give It A Shot, and the ability to connect her colleagues from the corporate world in support of CEPF was truly a wonder.
The transition from employee to volunteer was seamless in terms of inspiration, she may be on the other side of the boardroom table but she is still very excited about the ability to harness the energy and creativity of her fellow volunteers and the CEPF staff to bring relevant, timely and enriching programming to students in the six school districts that CEPF serves.
“It may sound corny” (she says with a tiny nose-crinkle) but you get way more than you give as a volunteer, I am able to bring people together from different sectors and really make a difference. I may work in the corporate world but I have the added bonus of benefiting the community – this is where my passion lies”
